When you need a lead-free hunting round that performs consistently from close range to long distance, the Sako Powerhead Blade 6.5x55mm 120gr Centrefire Ammo delivers exactly that. Built around a 100% copper, tipped expanding projectile, this load is engineered to initiate reliable expansion across a wide range of impact velocities, making it a genuinely versatile choice for Australian hunters pursuing medium to big game. At 2805 ft/s (856 m/s) from the muzzle, the 120gr (7.8g) projectile carries solid energy downrange, and Sako's proprietary Blade tip design ensures that energy is transferred effectively whether the shot is taken at close quarters or at extended distances. With near 100% weight retention on impact, hunters can expect clean, efficient kills with minimal meat damage.

Sako Powerhead Blade 6.5x55mm 120gr 2805 FPS Centrefire Ammo - 20 Rounds Key Features

• Calibre and Load: Chambered in 6.5x55mm with a 120gr (7.8g) bullet weight, this is a well-balanced load suited to a wide range of medium and big game hunting applications at typical Australian hunting distances.
• Muzzle Velocity: Launches at 2805 ft/s (856 m/s), providing a flat trajectory and reliable terminal performance out to extended ranges.
• 100% Copper Construction: The projectile is manufactured entirely from copper with no lead content, making it fully compliant for use in lead-free hunting zones and suitable for hunters seeking to reduce lead exposure in harvested game.
• Blade Polymer Tip: The green polymer Blade tip initiates a patented 5-stage expansion sequence upon impact, driving reliable and progressive mushrooming even at low residual velocities encountered at longer shooting distances or on lighter-framed animals.
• Deep Hollow Cavity Design: A uniquely deep hollow cavity behind the Blade tip ensures immediate expansion initiation the moment the projectile contacts the target, producing optimised mushrooming regardless of impact conditions.
• Near 100% Weight Retention: The solid copper construction resists fragmentation through bone and tissue, retaining close to 100% of its original weight on impact, which translates directly to reduced meat damage and more usable carcass.
• Bone Strike Performance: Excellent resistance to deformation on hard bone hits ensures the projectile maintains its trajectory and continues to expand predictably, rather than breaking apart or deflecting.
• Versatile Range Performance: Engineered to function reliably at both close range in quick shooting situations and at long distances where impact velocity has dropped, giving hunters consistent terminal performance across varied field scenarios.
• Ballistic Coefficient: A BC of 0.348 (G1) provides solid in-flight stability and resistance to wind drift, supporting accurate long-range performance typical of the 6.5mm projectile family.
• Rounds Per Box: Supplied in a box of 20 rounds.

The Sako Powerhead Blade in 6.5x55mm is a well-engineered lead-free option for hunters who demand reliable expansion and minimal meat loss across a range of field conditions. Whether you're taking a quick shot through dense cover or stretching the distance on open country, this load is built to perform where it matters most.
