Speargun Rubber and Bridles
Most spearguns, aside from pneumatic models, are powered by rubber. This rubber is pulled back and hooked into the spear's notch, known as a fin, by the rubber's bridle.
The thickness of your speargun rubber affects its load difficulty and power output. Thicker rubber provides more power but is harder to load. Alternatively, using two thinner rubbers can make loading easier while still delivering maximum power. Twin 16mm rubbers are ideal for most types of spearfishing, though hunting larger species like marlin or tuna may require multiple power bands for optimal performance.
