Spearfishing flashers, also called teasers, attract a variety of pelagic and reef fish, making it easier to locate and target them underwater. By reflecting light and mimicking feeding activity, flashers deceive larger fish into approaching, keeping them fixated on the shiny distractions. This allows spearfishers to approach and take precise shots without alarming their prey.

Spinner flashers are preferred for their streamlined design, reducing the risk of tangling and making them easier to tow through the water. They are less likely to snag on sharks compared to ladder-style flashers, which, while producing more reflection, are more prone to tangling due to their ladder-shaped construction.

To suspend flashers at the desired hunting depth, flasher floats are essential accessories. It's crucial not to position the flasher too deep, as this could prevent access to approaching fish that are attracted by the flasher's display.
