When it comes to a reliable, no-fuss rimfire in .22 WMR, the Rossi 8122M Standard Wood Blued Bolt Action Rifle delivers exactly what licensed hunters, pest controllers, and range shooters need without unnecessary complexity. Chambered in .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire, this right-hand bolt action offers a meaningful step up in energy and effective range over standard .22 LR, making it a genuinely capable option for small game, rabbit and fox culling, and vermin work around the property. The stock is crafted from German Beech Wood, lending it a classic, sturdy feel that holds up well in field conditions, while the alloy steel barrel and aluminium alloy frame are finished in matte black for a clean, low-glare profile. Manufactured in Brazil by CBC, the parent company behind several well-regarded rimfire platforms, the 8122M is a practical and well-priced bolt action that punches above its weight class.

Rossi 8122M Standard Wood Blued Bolt Action Rifle - Right Hand Key Features

• Calibre - .22 WMR: .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire offers significantly more velocity and energy than standard .22 LR, extending effective range and terminal performance for small game and pest control applications.
• Bolt Action: A right-hand bolt action configuration delivers a reliable, consistent cycling experience with positive lockup, well suited to deliberate shooting at the range or in the field.
• Barrel Length and Profile: The 18.50" (47cm) barrel provides a balance between portability and velocity retention, keeping overall length to 35.50" (90.2cm) and weight at a manageable 2.5kg.
• German Beech Wood Stock: A traditional hardwood stock material known for its density, stability, and resistance to warping, offering a more classic feel than synthetic alternatives while still being durable in outdoor conditions.
• Alloy Steel Barrel with Matte Black Finish: The alloy steel barrel resists corrosion and the matte black finish reduces glare in bright field conditions.
• Aluminium Alloy Receiver: A lightweight aluminium alloy frame keeps overall weight down without sacrificing rigidity, contributing to the rifle's practical 2.5kg carry weight.
• 6-Groove Rifling at 1:16" (1:40.6cm) RH Twist: The 1-in-16 inch right-hand twist rate is well matched to the range of projectile weights commonly available in .22 WMR, promoting consistent stabilisation and accuracy.
• Factory Fitted Picatinny Scope Mounting Bases: Ships optics-ready with Weaver-style scope mounting bases already fitted to the receiver. There are no iron sights included, so mounting a scope or red dot is the intended setup out of the box.
• Detachable 5-Round Magazine: A 5-round detachable magazine allows for straightforward reloading in the field and easy removal for safe storage and transport, compliant with Australian firearms handling requirements.
• Cross-Bolt Safety: A simple, positive cross-bolt safety system sits intuitively within the trigger guard area, offering a reliable manual safety mechanism familiar to bolt action shooters.

The Rossi 8122M is a sensible, well-specified rimfire bolt action that covers the bases for property pest control, small game hunting, and recreational range use without overcomplicating the package. With its German Beech Wood stock, optics-ready receiver, and the added reach of .22 WMR, it represents solid value in the rimfire category for both experienced shooters and those stepping up from a standard .22.
