Which Hornady dies is this Zip Spindle Kit compatible with?

This kit is designed for Hornady New Dimension sizer dies in 22 calibre and larger. It does not accommodate 17 or 20 calibre dies. It's intended to update older sizing dies to the threaded spindle design — if your die set was manufactured in 2006 or later, it likely already has the threaded zip spindle and this kit won't be necessary.

How do I know if my existing Hornady die actually needs this kit?

Check whether the spindle on your sizer die is already threaded. Hornady die sets shipped from 2006 onwards include the threaded zip spindle as standard. If your spindle is smooth and non-threaded, this kit will upgrade it to the newer locking design. If it's already threaded, you don't need this kit.
