When the weather closes in fast and pack space is at a premium, the Mac in a Sac Packable Waterproof Jacket earns its place in any hunting kit or day pack. Built around a 10,000mm waterproof rating and 8,000gsm breathability, this jacket handles genuine wet-weather conditions without turning into a sauna on the move. The DWR coating is entirely PFC and PFOA free, so there are no nasty chemistries at play. At just 250 to 300 grams depending on size, and packing down to 20cm x 8cm x 8cm (size L), it disappears into a bag until the moment you actually need it.

Mac in a Sac Packable Waterproof Jacket Key Features

• Waterproof Rating: 10,000mm hydrostatic head rating provides solid protection in sustained rain and wet bush conditions, well above the threshold needed for heavy weather use.
• Breathability: Rated at 8,000gsm, the fabric allows moisture vapour to escape so sweat buildup is minimised during active movement through the field.
• Fully Taped Seams: Every seam is fully taped, eliminating the weak points where water typically finds its way in on lesser jackets.
• PFC and PFOA Free DWR Coating: The durable water repellent finish uses no perfluorocarbons or perfluorooctanoic acid, making it a cleaner environmental choice without compromising weather resistance.
• Water Repellent YKK Front Zip: The main closure uses a YKK zip with a water repellent finish, one of the most trusted fastener brands in the industry, for reliable sealing at the most vulnerable point of any jacket.
• Packable into Its Own Stuff Sack: The jacket packs into its own integrated pouch, coming in at 20cm x 8cm x 8cm (size L) and 250 to 300 grams, making it a genuine pack-and-forget layering option.
• Concealed Rollaway Hood: The adjustable hood stores away into the collar and is secured with Velcro strips, keeping the jacket uncluttered when the hood is not needed.
• Reversed Weatherproof Front Pockets: Two front pockets use reversed zips to shed water, with an added internal pouch on each for smaller items or valuables.
• Windproof Construction: The fabric blocks wind, making it a useful layer even on dry days when conditions are cold and exposed.
• Back Venting: Integrated back venting promotes airflow and helps regulate temperature during high-output activity.
• Elasticated Cuffs and Adjustable Hem: Elasticated cuffs provide a snug seal at the wrist, while an adjustable drawcord at the curved hem lets you lock out draughts and rain.
• Reflective Detailing: Low-light reflective elements add a practical safety dimension for early morning or late afternoon use.
• Unisex Fit: The jacket is cut to suit both men and women, making it a versatile option across a group or household.

Whether it lives at the bottom of a day pack as emergency cover or does regular duty on early morning glassing sessions and camp chores, the Mac in a Sac punches well above its weight for what it takes up in space and on the scales.
