Built in Germany and earning its reputation as a serious working rifle, the Mauser M18 Field Hunt Threaded M17x1 Bolt Action Centrefire Rifle in .223 REM brings genuine Mauser engineering to Australian hunters and sport shooters at an accessible price point. The M18 Field Hunt backs that capability with a sub-MOA accuracy guarantee straight from the factory, giving shooters confidence before they've even turned a round through the barrel. With a threaded muzzle at M17x1 and a cold hammer forged barrel, this rifle is ready to perform out of the box and grow with you as your setup evolves.

Mauser M18 Field Hunt Threaded M17x1 Bolt Action Centrefire Rifle - .223 REM Key Features

• Cold Hammer Forged, Fluted, Semi-Weight Barrel: The 56 cm barrel is cold hammer forged for exceptional bore consistency and long service life. The fluted, semi-weight profile reduces overall mass without sacrificing rigidity, striking a practical balance for field carry and accuracy.
• Sub-MOA Accuracy Guarantee: Mauser guarantees this rifle will produce sub-minute-of-angle groups, meaning shot groups under 1 inch (2.54 cm) at 100 metres. That is a factory-backed performance standard, not a marketing claim.
• M17x1 Threaded Muzzle: The muzzle is threaded to the M17x1 standard, making it compatible with suppressors and muzzle brakes. Note that Mauser advises against shooting 5.56x45mm NATO ammunition through this rifle; use .223 Remington only.
• Three-Lug Push-Feed Bolt with 60-Degree Lift: The three-lug bolt provides a short, 60-degree throw, keeping your hand close to the action and allowing faster follow-up shots. Push-feed design keeps the action smooth and reliable across varying conditions.
• Adjustable Direct Trigger: Trigger pull is user-adjustable between 0.8 kg and 1.9 kg without specialist tools, allowing shooters to dial in a break that suits their preference and discipline.
• 3-Position Trigger Lug Safety: The three-position safety operates silently, a meaningful feature in the field where noise can spook game. The system allows bolt operation with the safety engaged, making safe chamber checks and unloading straightforward.
• Savannah Brown Polymer Stock with Adjustable Kalix Cheek Piece: The synthetic stock is built for durability in the field, resisting moisture and impact. The adjustable Kalix cheek piece lets shooters properly align their eye with optics, which is particularly useful when running a scope or suppressor setup that raises the sight line.
• Soft Grip Inlays: Rubberised inlays on the pistol grip and fore-end improve retention in wet or cold conditions without adding significant weight.
• Removable Butt Pad with Storage Compartment: The butt pad removes to reveal an internal storage cavity, useful for carrying small field essentials such as spare batteries or a bore snake.
• Remington 700-Style Scope Mount Compatibility: The receiver accepts Remington 700-pattern bases, one of the most widely supported mounting standards available. The range of compatible rings, bases, and rail systems on the Australian market is extensive.
• Dual Ejector Plungers: Twin ejector plungers promote consistent, reliable case ejection, reducing the chance of a spent case hanging up in the action during cycling.
• Detachable 5-Round Magazine: The flush-fitting 5-round polymer magazine is easily removable for topping up away from the action, and its slim profile keeps the rifle's overall lines clean.
• Lightweight Field-Ready Build: At 3,160 g and 106.68 cm overall length, the M18 sits in practical territory for a full-sized centrefire hunting rifle. Light enough to carry all day, substantial enough to manage recoil comfortably.
• Made in Germany: Manufactured at Mauser's facility in Isny im Allgäu, Germany, to the quality control standards the brand has maintained for over 150 years.

The M18 Field Hunt Threaded is a rifle that punches well above its price point, and the sub-MOA guarantee means you are not taking that on faith. Whether you are heading out for fox control across open paddocks or putting rounds downrange at the club, this is a capable, no-nonsense platform backed by one of the most storied names in bolt action history.
