Winchester's Model 70 is one of the most storied bolt-action rifle designs in history, and this Long Range variant takes that proven foundation and pushes it toward a purpose-built accuracy tool suited to everything from extended-range deer and game hunting to precision target work at the range. The rifle pairs a fluted, free-floating 24 inch (60.96cm) barrel with a Bell and Carlson composite stock fitted with an aluminium bedding block, delivering the kind of mechanical consistency that long-range accuracy demands. Every major component, from the trigger to the stock to the muzzle device, has been selected or designed with a singular focus on repeatable, down-range performance.

Winchester M70 Long Range MB 24in Bolt Action Centrefire Rifle - 5rnd Mag Key Features

Calibre - .308 Winchester: A highly versatile and widely available centrefire cartridge, the .308 Win delivers excellent long-range ballistics and is well suited to Australian deer and game hunting as well as range shooting disciplines.

Barrel - 24in (60.96cm) Fluted, Free-Floating, Light Varmint Profile: The extended barrel length maximises velocity and sight radius, while free-floating ensures the barrel is not influenced by stock pressure during firing. Fluting reduces weight without compromising rigidity. Twist rate is 1:12" (1:30.48cm).

Muzzle Brake with 5/8x24 TPI Threading: The factory-fitted muzzle brake reduces felt recoil and muzzle rise, which is valuable when shooting extended sessions or at distance. The barrel is threaded at 5/8x24 TPI, and a knurled cap is included if the brake is not required.

Bell and Carlson Composite Stock with Aluminium Bedding Block: Constructed using a hand lay-up process incorporating fibreglass, aramid fibres, graphite, epoxy gel coats, laminating resins, and polyurethane reinforcement with milled fibreglass, this stock is engineered for dimensional stability and rigidity. The inletted aluminium bedding block ensures consistent action fitment shot after shot. The stock is rated reliable across a temperature range of -50°F to +140°F (-45.6°C to +60°C).

Wide, Flat Fore-End: The wide, flat fore-end profile provides a stable platform when shooting from a bench or supported position, and contributes to consistent hold when using a bipod.

MOA Trigger System: Winchester's MOA Trigger is a zero-creep, zero-overtravel design that is adjustable for pull weight, delivering a clean, consistent break that supports accurate long-range shooting.

Pre-64 Claw Extractor with Controlled Round Feed: The controlled round feed action is the hallmark of the Model 70's feeding reliability, with the claw extractor capturing each round at the moment it leaves the magazine and controlling it all the way to the chamber. This is a mechanically confident system for hunters in the field.

Classic Three-Position Safety: The three-position safety allows the shooter to make the action safe while keeping the bolt operable for unloading, offering practical control in a hunting or range environment.

Receiver - Drilled and Tapped, Matte Blued Finish: The receiver is pre-drilled and tapped for standard scope mount bases, making optics fitment straightforward.
